Try pastels BEFORE you buy!?!
Jean-Marc (president of PygmaliART) and I have always had this idea in mind: to create an event where artists could come and try dry pastels before buying them . Why? Because we know how difficult it can be to make an informed choice with a medium as expensive as pastel. We really wanted to offer artists the opportunity to discover as many brands as possible available on the market, while allowing them to test the products before making an investment.
But the event goes far beyond testing materials. For us, it is also about creating connections with our clients , taking them out of their artistic isolation, and offering them an opportunity to meet, exchange , and grow together. We had in mind a place of sharing, where artists can not only explore new materials, but also learn during trainings and conferences . After the success of our first event in partnership with the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada (PSEC) , it was clear that we had to repeat the experience.
That's why I'm happy to announce that our next event will be held on September 15, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at Factrie 701. This time again, you will have the chance to:
🎨 Trying out different sets of hard-to-find dry pastels and art papers,
🎨 Meet and exchange with artists of all levels, in a friendly atmosphere,
🎨 Attend a lecture followed by a demonstration by Myles Johnston, President of PSEC, who will share with you the history and techniques related to pastel in a presentation entitled "Mastering the Art of Pastel: Techniques and Heritage of an Artistic Tradition" .
If you are hesitant to buy equipment without having tried it, this event is for you. We have designed it so that you can make informed choices, and to give you the opportunity to meet other artists in a stimulating and caring atmosphere. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, this day is a great opportunity to get out of the studio, learn and share .
Our first event exceeded all our expectations. The feedback from the participants was extremely positive, and it is with great pleasure that we offer you this new meeting. I look forward to seeing you at Factrie 701 on September 15th . And above all, don't forget to reserve your place: factrie701@gmail.com
Creatively,
Amelie
